Focus and Scope

Revista Coleta Científica is an open-access, peer-reviewed electronic journal devoted to interdisciplinary research that contributes to understanding and addressing social, institutional, economic, educational, health-related, technological, and environmental challenges.

The journal focuses on the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge applicable to public policymaking, organizational management, social development, improved living conditions, and the promotion of sustainability.

The journal prioritizes studies related to the following thematic areas:

  1. Public policy, governance, public administration, law, economics, and institutional relations;
  2. Education, professional development, work, culture, and human and social development;
  3. Public and collective health, healthcare practices, health promotion, and the management and evaluation of health services;
  4. Sustainability, the environment, energy, agricultural and territorial development, and the responsible use of natural resources;
  5. Management, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the social, ethical, and institutional impacts of technology.

Revista Coleta Científica primarily publishes original articles based on empirical research, theoretical studies with a clearly demonstrated scientific contribution, methodologically grounded case studies, systematic reviews, scoping reviews, integrative reviews, and other evidence-synthesis studies that present an explicit and reproducible method.

Theoretical essays may be considered when they provide a consistent conceptual foundation, critical analysis, and an original contribution to the advancement of knowledge. Critical reviews of scholarly books may be published in a separate section, preferably by editorial invitation, and will not be classified as original research articles.

Manuscripts derived from undergraduate dissertations, final course papers, master’s dissertations, or doctoral theses will be considered only when they have been substantially reformulated as scientific articles and demonstrate originality, methodological quality, an updated discussion, and relevance to readers from different institutions or contexts.

The journal does not prioritize exclusively descriptive manuscripts, local reports without broader analytical relevance, opinion pieces without scientific foundations, reviews without a clearly stated method, classroom assignments in their original format, or manuscripts unrelated to the journal’s thematic areas.

Submitted manuscripts must present a clearly defined research problem, engagement with current national and international scientific literature, an explicitly described method, scientifically supported findings or arguments, and a relevant contribution to the field.

The journal welcomes contributions from researchers in Brazil and other countries and seeks to promote institutional, geographical, and theoretical diversity among authors, reviewers, and editorial board members.

Manuscripts are accepted in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Regardless of the main language, all articles must include the title, abstract, and keywords in English and in the original language of the manuscript. Full-text publication in English is encouraged to increase the international circulation and impact of the research.

Editorial Ethics and Statement of Good Practices in Scientific Publishing

Revista Coleta Científica adopts principles of ethics, transparency, academic integrity, and editorial responsibility in all stages of the manuscript submission, evaluation, editing, publication, and post-publication process.

This policy guides authors, reviewers, editors, editorial board members, and readers regarding good practices in scientific publishing, the prevention of academic misconduct, the handling of conflicts of interest, corrections, retractions, and the preservation of the integrity of the scientific record.

The journal follows international good practices in editorial ethics, inspired by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics — COPE, the principles of transparency in scientific publishing, and the guidelines adopted by national and international indexing databases.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for the originality, integrity, accuracy, and truthfulness of the information presented in the manuscript submitted to Revista Coleta Científica.

By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors declare that:

a) the manuscript is original and has not previously been published in another journal, book, proceedings, or repository with an equivalent editorial version;
b) the manuscript is not under simultaneous evaluation by another journal;
c) all sources used have been properly cited and referenced;
d) there has been no plagiarism, improper self-plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification of information, manipulation of results, or intentional omission of relevant data;
e) all listed authors have contributed significantly to the conception, development, writing, analysis, review, or final approval of the work;
f) individuals who did not substantially contribute to the manuscript should not be included as authors;
g) any financial, academic, professional, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest were declared at the time of submission;
h) when applicable, research involving human beings or animals complied with current ethical standards and received approval from the competent ethics committee;
i) the authors undertake to correct any errors identified after submission, acceptance, or publication of the manuscript.

Authorship must reflect genuine intellectual contribution. Practices such as honorary authorship, guest authorship, ghost authorship, or the inclusion of names without effective participation in the work are not accepted.

Originality, Plagiarism, and Self-Plagiarism

Revista Coleta Científica does not accept plagiarism, improper self-plagiarism, copying of excerpts without citation, abusive paraphrasing, unauthorized use of data, duplicate publication, or simultaneous submission.

All manuscripts may be submitted to textual similarity verification procedures before, during, or after editorial evaluation. The identification of relevant similarity does not automatically imply misconduct but will be analyzed by the editors considering the context, extent, nature of the sources, and degree of originality of the manuscript.

When signs of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, redundant publication, or academic misconduct are identified, the journal may:

a) request clarification from the authors;
b) return the manuscript for corrections;
c) reject the manuscript;
d) notify the authors’ institution, when necessary;
e) publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction if the problem is identified after publication.

Editors’ Responsibilities

The editors of Revista Coleta Científica are responsible for conducting the editorial process with impartiality, confidentiality, academic independence, and commitment to scientific quality.

Editors are responsible for:

a) initially assessing the manuscript’s suitability to the journal’s focus, scope, editorial standards, and ethical requirements;
b) forwarding for peer review only manuscripts that meet minimum criteria of quality, originality, and formal compliance;
c) selecting reviewers with thematic expertise and no evident conflicts of interest;
d) preserving the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts;
e) ensuring that editorial decisions are based on academic merit, methodological quality, scientific relevance, and the contribution of the work;
f) not discriminating against authors on the basis of nationality, institutional origin, gender, race, religion, political orientation, sexual orientation, or any other personal condition;
g) preventing commercial, institutional, or personal interference in the evaluation process;
h) adopting appropriate measures in cases of suspected editorial or scientific misconduct;
i) safeguarding the integrity of the scientific record published by the journal.

Editors must not use unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts for their own benefit or for the benefit of third parties before the formal publication of the work.

Conflicts of Interest of Editors

Editors and editorial board members must declare a conflict of interest whenever there is a personal, professional, academic, financial, institutional, or recent collaborative relationship with the authors or with the content of the manuscript.

When a conflict of interest exists, the editor must withdraw from conducting the editorial process, and the manuscript must be assigned to another editor without an identified conflict.

The journal does not allow editors to conduct the evaluation of manuscripts authored by themselves, recent coauthors, advisees, advisors, members of the same research group, or individuals with a direct relationship that may compromise the impartiality of the editorial decision.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers play an essential role in ensuring the scientific quality of the works published by Revista Coleta Científica.

By accepting to review a manuscript, the reviewer declares that they have the expertise to analyze the topic and that there is no conflict of interest that could compromise their evaluation.

Reviewers are responsible for:

a) evaluating the manuscript objectively, respectfully, thoroughly, and constructively;
b) preserving the confidentiality of the evaluated content;
c) not using unpublished data, arguments, or information from the manuscript for their own benefit or for the benefit of third parties;
d) informing the editors of any suspicion of plagiarism, duplication, data manipulation, conflict of interest, or ethical problem;
e) indicating relevant references that may have been omitted by the authors, when appropriate;
f) meeting the deadlines established by the journal or communicating the impossibility of reviewing within an appropriate timeframe;
g) avoiding offensive, discriminatory, personal, or academically unfounded comments.

The evaluation must focus on scientific quality, originality, methodology, argumentative coherence, currency of references, academic contribution, and adherence to the journal’s scope.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Articles section of Revista Coleta Científica first undergo preliminary editorial screening, during which their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, scientific and textual quality, academic structure, metadata completeness, and compliance with ethical and formal requirements are assessed.

Manuscripts approved at this stage are sent to at least two external, independent ad hoc reviewers with expertise in the manuscript’s subject area.

Revista Coleta Científica adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which authors do not know the identity of the reviewers and reviewers do not know the identity of the authors.

To preserve anonymity, authors must remove their names, affiliations, identifiable acknowledgments, personal information contained in the document properties, and any other element that could reveal authorship. Complete authorship information must be entered exclusively in the OJS submission metadata.

Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality, scientific relevance, theoretical foundation, methodological adequacy, analysis and discussion of results, currency of references, textual clarity, and academic contribution.

In cases of substantial disagreement between the reviews, the manuscript may be sent to a third reviewer. The final editorial decision rests with the journal’s editors and is based on the reviews received, scientific merit, methodological quality, alignment with the journal’s scope, and compliance with ethical and editorial policies.

Documents that, because of their nature, are not subject to external peer review, such as certain editorials or institutional texts, will be clearly identified on the publication page and in the published file.

Scientific and Editorial Misconduct

The following are considered practices of scientific or editorial misconduct, among others:

a) plagiarism;
b) improper self-plagiarism;
c) data fabrication or falsification;
d) manipulation of images, tables, results, or citations;
e) simultaneous submission to more than one journal;
f) duplicate or redundant publication;
g) improper authorship, ghost authorship, or honorary authorship;
h) omission of conflicts of interest;
i) unauthorized use of third-party data;
j) manipulation of the peer review process;
k) fraudulent indication of reviewers;
l) attempted undue interference in the editorial decision;
m) use of irrelevant citations to manipulate bibliometric indicators.

Suspicions of misconduct will be analyzed by the editorial team, which may request clarification from authors, reviewers, or institutions involved.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

Revista Coleta Científica may publish corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when relevant errors, ethical issues, or inconsistencies are identified that partially or fully compromise the published content.

Corrections may be published when there is an honest error that does not invalidate the main results of the work.

Retractions may occur when serious problems are confirmed, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification of results, duplicate publication, lack of mandatory ethical approval, or other factors that compromise the reliability of the article.

Expressions of concern may be published when an investigation is ongoing and it is not yet possible to reach a definitive conclusion regarding the integrity of the article.

The measures adopted will be recorded transparently, preserving the traceability of the scientific record.

Complaints and Appeals

Authors, readers, reviewers, or institutions may submit complaints, questions, or appeals related to editorial decisions, ethical conduct, peer review, or published content.

Requests will be analyzed by the journal’s editors in an impartial, respectful, and confidential manner.

Appeals against editorial decisions must present an objective justification based on scientific, methodological, ethical, or documentary aspects. Mere disagreement with the editorial decision does not guarantee the reopening of the evaluation process.

When necessary, the journal may consult editorial board members or external reviewers to support the analysis.

Authors’ Conflicts of Interest

Authors must declare any situation that may influence, or appear to influence, the conduct, analysis, or interpretation of the research.

Conflicts of interest may involve funding, employment relationships, consultancy, institutional relationships, academic disputes, commercial interests, personal relationships, or any circumstance that may affect the impartiality of the work.

The absence of conflicts of interest must also be declared in the manuscript when requested by the journal.

Research Funding

Authors must inform the sources of funding, institutional support, scholarships, grants, or sponsorships related to the research.

When there is no funding, it is recommended that this information be declared in the manuscript.

Funding must not interfere with the autonomy of the authors, data analysis, interpretation of results, or the journal’s editorial decision.

Research Involving Human Beings or Animals

Manuscripts resulting from research involving human beings must comply with applicable ethical standards and, when required, present approval from a Research Ethics Committee or equivalent body.

Research involving animals must comply with institutional and legal standards applicable to animal care, use, and welfare.

The journal may request supporting documentation of ethical approval, informed consent, or institutional authorization whenever necessary.

Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

Revista Coleta Científica recognizes that generative artificial intelligence tools and AI-assisted technologies may assist authors, reviewers, and editors in certain academic and editorial activities. However, their use must occur with transparency, responsibility, human supervision, preservation of confidentiality, and respect for scientific integrity.

This policy establishes guidelines for the use of generative artificial intelligence tools in the preparation, submission, evaluation, editing, and publication of manuscripts submitted to Revista Coleta Científica.

Generative artificial intelligence tools are understood as those capable of producing, modifying, summarizing, translating, reviewing, organizing, or suggesting texts, images, codes, tables, references, analyses, or other content based on prompts provided by users.

General Principles on the Use of Artificial Intelligence

The use of generative artificial intelligence must observe the following principles:

a) full human responsibility for the content submitted, evaluated, edited, or published;
b) transparency regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools when such use has a relevant influence on the production of the manuscript;
c) preservation of originality, authorship, data integrity, and scientific validity of the work;
d) protection of the confidentiality of manuscripts, reviews, research data, and personal information;
e) respect for copyright, intellectual property, and applicable ethical standards;
f) prohibition of the use of artificial intelligence to fabricate data, results, images, citations, references, or nonexistent information;
g) maintenance of editorial and scientific evaluation as a human, critical, and independent activity.

Authorship and Responsibility in the Use of Artificial Intelligence

Generative artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors or coauthors of manuscripts submitted to Revista Coleta Científica.

Scientific authorship requires public responsibility for the content, approval of the final version of the manuscript, the ability to respond to matters of academic integrity, declaration of conflicts of interest, and agreement with submission and publication. Such responsibilities can only be assumed by human persons.

Authors are fully responsible for all submitted content, even if they have used artificial intelligence tools at any stage of manuscript preparation.

Permitted Use of Artificial Intelligence by Authors

Authors may use generative artificial intelligence tools in a limited, complementary, and supervised manner, provided that such use does not replace their intellectual contribution, critical analysis, scientific interpretation, or responsibility for the content.

Examples of permitted uses include:

a) grammatical, spelling, and stylistic revision;
b) improvement of clarity, fluency, and textual organization;
c) preliminary translation of texts produced by the authors themselves;
d) support in structuring ideas, provided that the scientific content is developed and validated by the authors;
e) assistance in preparing abstracts, keywords, or titles, provided that they are critically reviewed by the authors;
f) support in organizing references, provided that all sources are verified by the authors;
g) technical support in codes, formulas, tables, or analyses, when properly reviewed, validated, and described in the methodology, if applicable;
h) creation of explanatory images, diagrams, flowcharts, or conceptual illustrations, provided that they do not represent fabricated data or nonexistent results and that their use is declared.

Even when use is permitted, authors must carefully review all content generated or modified by artificial intelligence before submission.

Prohibited Use of Artificial Intelligence by Authors

Revista Coleta Científica does not allow the use of generative artificial intelligence to:

a) produce an entire manuscript without genuine human intellectual contribution;
b) fabricate, falsify, or alter research data;
c) create nonexistent results, interviews, testimonies, statistics, images, tables, or evidence;
d) generate false, nonexistent, or unverified bibliographic references;
e) attribute incorrect citations to authors or works;
f) manipulate scientific images, photographs, examinations, charts, or research records in a misleading manner;
g) conceal plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or academic misconduct;
h) replace critical analysis, scientific interpretation, or discussion of results;
i) produce reviews, responses to reviewers, or justifications without review and responsibility by the authors;
j) enter confidential information, sensitive personal data, or unauthorized data into external tools without adequate privacy and security guarantees.

Misuse of artificial intelligence may result in manuscript rejection, requests for clarification, correction, retraction, or institutional communication, depending on the severity of the case.

Declaration of Use of Artificial Intelligence by Authors

When generative artificial intelligence tools are used in a relevant way in the preparation of the manuscript, authors must include a specific statement in the submitted text.

The statement must include:

a) name of the tool or service used;
b) purpose of use;
c) stage at which the tool was used;
d) form of human supervision, review, and validation;
e) authors’ responsibility for the final content.

The statement must be inserted before the references, under the following title:

Declaration of use of generative artificial intelligence and AI-assisted technologies

Recommended model:

“During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [name of tool/service] for [describe the purpose of use]. After using the tool, the authors fully reviewed, edited, and validated the content, assuming full responsibility for the final version submitted to the journal.”

When no generative artificial intelligence tool has been used in a relevant way, the journal may request the following statement:

“The authors declare that they did not use generative artificial intelligence tools in a relevant way in the preparation, analysis, writing, or revision of this manuscript.”

Basic spelling correction, simple grammar checking, or text formatting tools do not need to be declared, provided that they have not made substantial changes to the content, structure, interpretation, or argumentation of the manuscript.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Research Methods

When artificial intelligence tools are part of the research design, data collection, data analysis, image processing, statistical modeling, text mining, programming, or any scientific procedure, their use must be described clearly and reproducibly in the methodology section.

In such cases, authors must inform, when applicable:

a) name of the tool, system, model, or software;
b) version used;
c) developer or provider;
d) relevant parameters, prompts, criteria, or procedures;
e) form of validation of results;
f) known limitations of the tool;
g) measures adopted to avoid bias, errors, distortions, or non-reproducible results.

The use of artificial intelligence as a research method does not waive the need for methodological rigor, transparency, data validation, and authors’ responsibility.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Images, Figures, and Charts

The use of artificial intelligence for the creation or editing of images, figures, charts, and illustrations must respect scientific integrity and editorial transparency.

The use of artificial intelligence is permitted to support the creation of:

a) flowcharts;
b) conceptual diagrams;
c) explanatory schemes;
d) non-empirical illustrations;
e) visual representations of processes or theoretical relationships.

In such cases, the use must be declared in the figure caption and in the general declaration of artificial intelligence use.

Artificial intelligence must not be used to fabricate, alter, or manipulate images that represent primary data or research results, such as:

a) microscopic images;
b) clinical examinations;
c) radiological images;
d) field photographs;
e) documentary records;
f) charts that do not derive directly from real research data;
g) images that may induce a false interpretation of results.

Charts, tables, and data visualizations must derive from real, verifiable, and methodologically described data.

References, Citations, and Sources

Authors who use artificial intelligence to support literature review, reference organization, or source location must manually verify all information before submission.

Revista Coleta Científica does not accept nonexistent references, fabricated citations, incorrect attribution of authorship, or unverifiable sources.

The inclusion of false, nonexistent, or artificially generated references may be considered academic misconduct.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, relevance, and existence of all references used in the manuscript.

Translation Supported by Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools may be used for preliminary translation of texts produced by the authors themselves, provided that the result is carefully reviewed by a person proficient in the language and scientific content.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the translation preserves the original meaning, conceptual accuracy, appropriate terminology, and academic integrity of the manuscript.

When AI-assisted translation has a relevant influence on the submitted or published version, its use must be declared.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Authors, reviewers, and editors must exercise caution when entering information into artificial intelligence tools, especially when it involves:

a) unpublished manuscripts;
b) unpublished research data;
c) personal information;
d) sensitive data;
e) confidential documents;
f) editorial reviews;
g) confidential communications;
h) materials protected by copyright or intellectual property.

Entering confidential information into external systems may pose risks to privacy, intellectual property, and the integrity of the editorial process.

Use of Artificial Intelligence by Reviewers

Reviewers of Revista Coleta Científica must preserve the confidentiality of manuscripts received for evaluation.

Reviewers must not enter full manuscripts, substantial excerpts, unpublished data, tables, figures, or confidential information into public generative artificial intelligence tools.

The use of artificial intelligence by reviewers is permitted only in a limited and auxiliary manner, for example:

a) to improve the linguistic clarity of a review written by the reviewer;
b) to organize the structure of the evaluation report;
c) to support general bibliographic searches without sharing confidential manuscript content;
d) to check spelling or grammar of the review.

Artificial intelligence may not replace critical reading, academic judgment, methodological evaluation, ethical analysis, or the reviewer’s scientific recommendation.

The reviewer remains fully responsible for the content of the review and for the recommendation submitted to the journal.

Declaration of Use of Artificial Intelligence by Reviewers

When the reviewer uses an artificial intelligence tool in a relevant way to prepare their review, they must declare such use in the evaluation report itself.

Recommended model:

“During the preparation of this review, I used [name of tool/service] for [describe the purpose of use]. After using the tool, I reviewed and edited the content as necessary and assume full responsibility for the critical evaluation, comments, and editorial recommendation presented.”

Simple spelling or grammar correction tools do not need to be declared, provided that they do not substantially alter the content of the review.

Use of Artificial Intelligence by Editors

The editors of Revista Coleta Científica are responsible for the human, critical, independent, and ethical conduct of the editorial process.

Artificial intelligence tools may not replace the editorial decision, the assessment of academic merit, the choice of reviewers, the evaluation of conflicts of interest, or the final responsibility of editors.

Editors must not enter full manuscripts, substantial parts of manuscripts, confidential reviews, unpublished data, or private communications into public generative artificial intelligence tools.

The use of artificial intelligence by editors may occur only in an auxiliary manner, for example:

a) to improve the linguistic clarity of editorial communications;
b) to organize administrative messages;
c) to support non-decisive technical checks;
d) to assist in general bibliographic searches;
e) to improve the textual structure of editorial decisions, provided that the content is formulated, reviewed, and validated by the responsible editor.

The final editorial decision must always be made by human editors, based on scientific merit, received reviews, journal standards, and principles of editorial ethics.

Transparency in the Editorial Process

Revista Coleta Científica may use technological tools, including automated or AI-assisted systems, for administrative support, technical verification, similarity detection, metadata organization, or improvement of the editorial workflow.

Such tools do not replace peer review, human editorial analysis, or the final decision of the editors.

The journal is committed to preserving human supervision in the essential stages of the editorial process.

Detection of Misuse of Artificial Intelligence

The journal may analyze manuscripts, reviews, images, references, and other submitted materials when there is suspicion of misuse of artificial intelligence.

Automated detection of AI-generated content will not be used as the sole basis for rejection, accusation of misconduct, or retraction.

When relevant signs are identified, the journal may:

a) request clarification from the authors, reviewers, or editors involved;
b) request additional documentation;
c) request review, correction, or reformulation of the content;
d) reject the manuscript;
e) publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, when applicable;
f) notify involved institutions in serious cases of misconduct.

The analysis will consider the context, extent of use, transparency of the declaration, risks to scientific integrity, and the responsibility of the parties involved.

Sanctions in Case of Misuse

Improper use of artificial intelligence may result in editorial measures, depending on the severity of the case.

Possible measures include:

a) request for corrections;
b) requirement of a supplementary declaration;
c) return of the manuscript to the authors;
d) rejection of the manuscript;
e) temporary suspension of submissions by the authors involved;
f) notification to the authors’ institution;
g) publication of a correction, expression of concern, or retraction;
h) other measures compatible with good practices in editorial ethics.

Peer Review Process

Texts submitted to Revista Coleta Científica are initially evaluated regarding their suitability to the journal’s focus and scope, scientific relevance, originality, textual quality, and compliance with editorial guidelines.

All submitted articles may undergo textual similarity verification using plagiarism detection software. If signs of plagiarism or academic misconduct are identified, the appropriate editorial measures will be taken.

When the submitted work lacks originality, is not suitable for the editorial policy, or does not meet the minimum criteria of scientific and formal quality, it may be archived during the preliminary evaluation stage.

Once the originality, suitability, and relevance of the submitted text have been verified, the evaluation proceeds through a double-blind peer review system, conducted by ad hoc reviewers, specialists appointed according to the theme, field of knowledge, and theoretical references of the work.

Reviewers must issue an analytical-critical report with one of the following recommendations:

a) accept;
b) accept with corrections or modifications;
c) reject.

For acceptance, favorable reviews are generally required. In case of disagreement between reviews, submitted texts may be forwarded to a third reviewer, at the discretion of the editors.

When one or more reviewers request revisions, the work will be returned to the authors for adjustments. The revised version may be resubmitted for further analysis, when necessary.

Rejected works will be archived. Accepted works will proceed to the editing stage.

Articles accepted for publication may undergo editorial revision to improve clarity, standardization, and compliance with the journal’s standards, without altering the scientific content.

The decision regarding the issue, section, and number in which the article will be published rests with the editors of Revista Coleta Científica.

Publication Frequency

Revista Coleta Científica is an open-access, electronic scientific journal with continuous publication and semiannual organization.

The journal publishes two issues per year, released each semester, which together make up an annual volume. Each article is published within a specific issue, with its own table of contents.

The publication frequency is organized as follows:

Issue referring to January/June: continuous publication from January to June.
Issue referring to July/December: continuous publication from July to December.

Open Access Policy

Revista Coleta Científica provides free and immediate access to all its content.

Published articles may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, and used for academic and scientific purposes, provided that the original source is properly cited and copyright and the applicable license are respected.

The journal’s open access policy is aligned with the principle of broad and unrestricted socialization of scientific knowledge.

Digital Preservation

Revista Coleta Científica is integrated with the PKP Preservation Network — PKP PN, a distributed digital preservation network based on LOCKSS technology. The journal uses the official PKP PN plugin for the deposit and long-term preservation of its issues, articles, and respective metadata.

Article Processing Charge

Revista Coleta Científica does not charge submission fees or peer-review fees.

After the peer-review process has been completed, all required revisions have been approved, and the final editorial decision of acceptance has been issued, an Article Processing Charge of BRL 250.00 will be charged for articles with up to three authors. An additional fee of BRL 50.00 will be charged for each additional author.

For authors residing outside Brazil, the fee is USD 60.00 for articles with up to three authors, plus USD 10.00 for each additional author.

No payment will be requested during submission, desk review, or peer review. Payment does not influence the selection of reviewers, the peer-review reports, or the editorial decision, and it does not guarantee publication of the article.

Copyright Statement

Authors who publish in Revista Coleta Científica agree to the following terms:

a) they authorize the publication of the text in the journal;
b) they guarantee that the contribution is original and unpublished;
c) they declare that the manuscript is not under evaluation by another journal;
d) they authorize the indexing of the article in national and international databases, directories, digital libraries, and bibliometric databases in which the journal is or may become indexed;
e) they acknowledge that the opinions, ideas, and concepts expressed in the texts are entirely the responsibility of their authors;
f) they accept that editors may make textual adjustments and adaptations to the journal’s standards, without changing the scientific content.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.

Articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which allows sharing of the work with acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal.

Authors are authorized to enter into additional separate agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work, such as in institutional repositories, personal pages, or book chapters, provided that authorship and initial publication in Revista Coleta Científica are acknowledged.

Authors are also authorized and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online before or during the editorial process, when appropriate, as this practice may increase the visibility, impact, and citation of the published work.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

All articles submitted to Revista Coleta Científica may undergo textual similarity verification using Plagius software or an equivalent tool.

The journal rejects all forms of plagiarism and only publishes articles that demonstrate originality and compliance with principles of academic integrity.

Editors will also be attentive to cases of self-plagiarism, redundant publication, inappropriate use of citations, and improper reuse of previously published texts.

If a fully or partially plagiarized work is identified, Revista Coleta Científica may reject the manuscript, request clarification, notify the authors, and adopt the appropriate editorial measures, ensuring the right of response of the parties involved.
