Focus and Scope

Revista Coleta Científica is the scientific-academic dissemination publication of institutions whose mission is to contribute to the evolution of knowledge in the field of inter- and multidisciplinarity. The aim of this journal is to disseminate the scientific production of students, teachers and researchers from Brazil and the world, being accessible to researchers from other institutions in Brazil, contributing to promote the debate of ideas and stimulate scientific research.

Published since 2017, the Journal has been disseminating original texts produced in the field of agricultural sciences, health sciences, social sciences and the humanities.

Since its first edition, it has sought to publish significant scientific and academic texts (essays or results of empirical research) on education issues, seeking to maintain the collaboration of a wide variety of authors from a wide range of national and foreign education and research institutions.

Initially, the periodicity of Scientific Collection Magazine was biannual, with only two issues per year. Finally, as of July 2020, it became another Brazilian journal with a continuous flow periodicity, according to the recommendations of the most recognized indexers in the field.

In order to keep up to date with the most significant reflections on current issues and advances in science, Revista Coleta Científica commissions reference texts by renowned authors in the above-mentioned areas of knowledge to be published in the form of dossiers, in addition to articles and reviews collected in spontaneous requests.

Revista Coleta Científica aims to contribute to the dissemination of academic and scientific works, offering free and immediate access to all its content through the portal http://portalcoleta.com.br/index.php/rcc/index, under the guideline of broad and unrestricted socialization of knowledge.

Throughout its history, Revista Coleta Científica has sought to ensure the institutional diversity of its authors and the presence of researchers from different institutions from all regions of Brazil, as well as from renowned foreign HEIs, avoiding endogeneity.

More recently, it was decided that, in addition to the official language of Revista Coleta Científica, Portuguese, texts could be submitted and published in other languages: German, Spanish, French, English and Italian. Peer Review Process

The texts (articles and reviews) submitted to the call for papers are evaluated, first of all, for their scientifically consolidated character, their social relevance and their alignment with the guidelines of Revista Coleta Científica.

All submitted articles go through the Plagius - a plagiarism detector software - which, if plagiarism is found, will take the legal steps in force.

When the submitted paper is neither original nor appropriate and timely to the editorial policy of Scientific Collection Magazine, it will be archived.

Once the originality, appropriateness and timeliness of the submitted text have been verified, the evaluation proceeds in the double-blind peer review system, by ad hoc reviewers - specialists appointed on the basis of the subject matter and/or the theoretical references of the submitted work - who are generally professors and researchers associated with strict graduate programs of national or foreign higher education institutions (IES).

After carefully examining the submitted article or review, the reviewer should conclude his or her analytical-critical opinion with one of the following recommendations:

(a) accept;
b) accept with corrections or modifications;
(c) reject.

A minimum of two favourable opinions is required for acceptance. In the event of a difference of opinion, the submitted texts may be forwarded to a third opinionist at the discretion of the editor(s).

Where one or both of the referees request rewording, the work is returned to the author for consideration of the opinions and rewording of the text, which, reworded, should be sent back for re-evaluation.

Unaccepted work is archived; accepted work moves to the editing stage.

Articles accepted for publication may undergo editorial revisions to facilitate their clarity and understanding, without altering their content.

The editors will decide in which issue and in which part of the Journal the article will be published.

Periodicity

The Revista Coleta Científica is a scientific, electronic, totally free, open access, biannual journal with continuous publication, which receives submissions of unpublished papers in continuous flow, in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

The Journal publishes two issues a year, released each semester, which together make up one volume. Each article is published within an issue with its own summary. The frequency of publication is every six months, with an issue every six months:

January/June issue: continuous publication from January to June

July/December issue: continuous publication from July to December

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to its entire contents, and articles may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed and/or searched, with acknowledgement of source.

Archiving

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) provides free preservation services for any OJS journal that meets a basic set of criteria.

This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

All articles submitted to Scientific Collection Journal, will pass the Plagius similarity check.

The Journal follows international standards regarding plagiarised works. It absolutely rejects all forms of plagiarism and only publishes articles with the authors' guarantee of the originality of their work.

The editors will be alert to instances of self-plagiarism and will make recommendations to authors where appropriate.

In the event that an author submits to the Scientific Collection Journal a work that is totally or partially plagiarised, he/she will be definitively denied the possibility of publication. This directive will be obligatorily transmitted to the authors and they will be guaranteed the right of reply.
